Anti-inflammatory research compound
KPV (10mg): The Anti-Inflammatory Tripeptide from Alpha-MSH
KPV is the last three amino acids of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, Lys-Pro-Val. It keeps the anti-inflammatory activity of the parent hormone and loses the pigmentation, appetite and sexual-function effects that come from alpha-MSH's melanocortin receptor binding, because the KPV fragment does not need those receptors to work. That makes it the cleanest tool in the melanocortin family for studying inflammation on its own, in gut, skin and systemic models. Pure Peptides Australia holds KPV in Sydney stock as a 10mg lyophilised vial, Janoshik tested before listing. Orders confirmed before 12pm AEST on a business day are dispatched the same day with tracked delivery Australia-wide. KPV is also the fourth compound in the KLOW blend.

Why the fragment rather than the hormone
Alpha-MSH is a potent anti-inflammatory signal but it also tans skin, suppresses appetite and affects sexual function through MC1R and MC4R. Researchers wanting the anti-inflammatory arm alone needed a fragment that kept it and dropped the rest. KPV is that fragment: it enters cells through the PepT1 transporter, which is abundant in intestinal and immune cells, and acts inside the cell on NF-kB rather than at a surface melanocortin receptor. That is also why it is studied orally in gut models, where PepT1 carries it straight into the epithelium.
Key research areas
Colitis and gut inflammation
Reduced inflammation and improved histology in DSS colitis models, with PepT1-mediated uptake into intestinal epithelium (Dalmasso et al., Gastroenterology 2008).
NF-kB inhibition
Blocks NF-kB nuclear translocation and downstream cytokine release, the core mechanism.
Skin inflammation
Studied in dermal inflammation and wound models, the reason it is added to the GLOW compounds in KLOW.
Antimicrobial activity
Alpha-MSH and KPV show activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans in vitro, independent of the anti-inflammatory effect.
Nanoparticle and oral delivery
Studied as a model cargo for targeted delivery to inflamed gut tissue.
Mast cell and immune signalling
Reduced pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-alpha, IL-6, IL-1beta) in immune cell models.
How KPV works
KPV is taken up by PepT1, the oligopeptide transporter on intestinal, kidney and immune cells. Inside the cell it interferes with NF-kB activation, the transcription factor that switches on most inflammatory cytokines, and it may also act through the IL-1 receptor pathway. Because it does not rely on melanocortin receptors, its activity is preserved in tissues that lack them and it produces none of alpha-MSH's pigmentation or appetite effects. It is a very small, stable peptide with a short half-life, so research models use repeated or local administration.

Pricing in Australia
$79.99 for 10mg, $8.00 per mg
KPV research uses amounts from a few hundred micrograms to low milligrams, so a 10mg vial covers a full protocol. For a combined repair and anti-inflammatory model, KLOW ($149.99) supplies 10mg of KPV with GHK-Cu, BPC-157 and TB-500 in one vial.
Reconstitution
Wipe the stopper, add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall, swirl gently until clear, never shake. Refrigerate at 2 to 8°C and use within 28 days.

Quality and COA verification
Every batch is tested by Janoshik Analytical: HPLC purity, mass-spec identity against 342 g/mol, heavy metals and endotoxin. The batch number on the label matches the certificate.

KPV Australia FAQ
What is KPV?
Lys-Pro-Val, the last three amino acids of alpha-MSH. It keeps the hormone's anti-inflammatory activity and drops its pigmentation, appetite and sexual-function effects. Studied in colitis, dermal and systemic inflammation models.
How does KPV work?
It enters cells through the PepT1 transporter and blocks NF-kB activation, the switch for most inflammatory cytokines. It does not need melanocortin receptors, so it works in tissues that lack them.
What does the research show?
Reduced inflammation and improved histology in DSS colitis models, lower TNF-alpha, IL-6 and IL-1beta in immune cell models, activity in dermal inflammation models, and in-vitro antimicrobial effects. All preclinical.
KPV vs alpha-MSH?
Alpha-MSH is anti-inflammatory but also tans skin and affects appetite through MC1R and MC4R. KPV keeps the anti-inflammatory arm without the receptor effects.
Why is KPV in KLOW?
GLOW is GHK-Cu, BPC-157 and TB-500 for repair. KLOW adds KPV to damp the inflammation that can stall repair, for models where inflammation is the variable.
Can I buy KPV at Chemist Warehouse in Australia?
No. KPV is not a registered medicine and no Australian pharmacy stocks it. It is available only as a research-grade lyophilised vial.
How do you reconstitute KPV?
Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall, swirl gently until clear, never shake, refrigerate at 2 to 8°C and use within 28 days. 2mL gives 5mg/mL, so 500mcg is 10 units.
Is KPV available in Australia?
As a research compound, yes: Pure Peptides Australia holds the 10mg vial in Sydney with same-day dispatch. As a medicine, no. As of October 2026 it is not TGA approved.
Where can I buy KPV in Australia?
From this page. Check out with card, PayID, Osko or bank transfer and the vial leaves Sydney the same business day when payment clears before 12pm AEST, tracked to any Australian address.
What does KPV cost in Australia?
$79.99 for the 10mg vial, $8.00 per mg. No surcharge on PayID, Osko or bank transfer.
Is KPV legal in Australia?
Pure Peptides Australia supplies it strictly for lawful in-vitro laboratory research. It is not approved by the TGA for human or veterinary use and is not sold as a medicine, supplement or therapeutic good. Purchasers are responsible for ensuring their use complies with applicable laws.
